it is well worth watching although despite all of its commentary on the health industry i felt like going to the hospital after watching it because i was so sickened by the state of healthcare in America

not a big fan of rush but i would rather listen to him for an hour than watch five minutes of sicko. moore needs to learn a few things about what makes capitalism work. Study a little political theory and economics and its crystal clear why socialized medicine never quite works as advertized (if it did it would be great). both systems will always have flaws- i prefer the system we use now.

Yes! I’m certainly still going to the theater, but I can’t wait to watch it tonight!

I am 55, a professional, worked in the USA for 30 years and will soon retire to my home birth country, Australia. Guess what the number 1 reason is !!!! Yep, HEALTH CARE. The USA is a great place to make money, but inferior in many other ways, including access to health care. Michael Moore is right on with this movie, doing the job that Americas spineless journalists and politicians re-fuse to do. It’s ashame that the worlds wealthiest country is also the most greediest when it comes to making money at the expense of its citizens life and death health care decisions.

I have a family member who is right now in the hospital with a serious illness. It’s an illness that would put most Americans into bankruptcy…even with insurance.

Fortunately, I’m not an American…I’m a Canadian. The only thing my family member has had to pay for is the cable TV hookup in her hospital room. Everything else is covered by tax dollars…as it should be in a wealthy and civilized country.

And when my family member was brought into the emergency room, there was NO wait. My family member received care right away…in one of the busiest emergency rooms in Canada.

Sure when it’s busy some people have to wait…but they only have to wait for non-life threatening conditions. If you’ve got a life-threatening situation…there is no wait.

The other thing you Americans get sucked in by is your right-wing politicians.

Canada has right-wing politicians too. But…there’s a difference. Not even our right-wing politicians would ever dare try to roll our healthcare system back to the “bad old days” before single payer. Instead, what our right-wing politicians do is try to implement “death by a thousand cuts” to healthcare budgets.

And when our right-wing politicians create problems for the Canadian healthcare system, your right-wing politicians point to the problems and say “see….socialized medicine doesn’t work!” These right-wing politicians are in cahoots!

But whatever problems we have…I will take our healthcare system’s problems over YOUR healthcare system’s problems ANY DAY OF THE WEEK!
When I think of all the care my family member has received, I want to kiss my maple leaf flag once a day!

In my country healthcare service is considered by the general public to be a human right. In the USA it’s a business.

Americans have been fed a load of crap about public healthcare for decades…and you’ve bought it all hook, line and sinker and so 40-50 million Americans have no healthcare coverage at all. Millions more have inadequate healthcare coverage.

How about joining the civilized world America!
