Iran: Porn "corrupter of the world"

It’s beginning to look like all that porn you’re downloading definitely won’t be the kind produced in Iran. Parliament officials in Iran are seriously considering a bill that would lead to the death penalty for anyone convicted of participating in the production of porn or pornographic content.

Iran’s parliament on Wednesday voted in favor of a bill that could lead to death penalty for persons convicted of working in the production of pornographic movies.

With a 148-5 vote in favor and four abstentions, lawmakers present at the Wednesday session of the 290-seat parliament approved that “producers of pornographic works and main elements in their production are considered corruptors of the world and could be sentenced to punishment as corruptors of the world.”

The term, “corruptor of the world” is taken from the Quran, the Muslims’ holy book, and ranks among the highest on the scale of an individual’s criminal offenses. Under Iran’s Islamic Penal Code, it carries a death penalty.

Adult entertainment sure has a noticeable fan base. If this bill were to pass, how many other countries would seek similar laws?

    This is why we’re not ready to meet aliens from outer space. If as physically identical beings with identical evolution, can have such cultural weight put onto a society to respect ideology above human life of a natural act that creates life. Outlaw fine, but the death penalty shows a serious retardation in their core beliefs.

    @ Broncobash: Hahahaha… I’m with you there. I think hes just trying to disguise what he really wants to say. “Porn = Good”.

    All porn really is is just sex based tutorials set to bad jazz music. I’ve learned all my good moves from porn. Porn has done no one harm other than hand cramps. And in that case, eat a banana beforehand.

    This is the porn we are preparing our young people to enjoy, and perhaps certain of our muslim judges (like the one who personally served as the executioner in the hanging of a 15 year old girl whom he sentenced, essentially, for being raped) already do.
