Yet Another Reason We Are Not Average: “Average Adult Spends $1,200 A Year On Tech”

According to CEA (The folks behind CES) the average U.S. household owns 25 gizmos with the average adult spending $1,200 annually these toys.

I, for a fact, can say I am not average here. Anybody else here above that bell curve?

    Considering I just payed $1300 for an iMac, $250 for a new iPod, and $250 for a Wii, I think Im a little above average

    Considering our HVX200 and its million accessories / gear along with the Mac and tech habit and HDTV’s.

    Its only the end of April and im at about ……5,000. Which is including but not limited to:

    JVC 56fn97
    Airport Extreme
    Gateway fpd2185w
    iPod stuff…

    and so on and so forth.

    Last year saw two Macbook Pro’s. iMac 24″. 50″ HDTV, 26″ HDTV, iPods, HVX200, Redrock Micro M2, PS3, Wii, and it goes on and on.

    I am definitely over. I am spending £1,500 (about $3000) on a macbook pro this year, and then there is all the other stuff. I am definitely over $1,200

    Last year was over $5000, I think I’ll hit an additional $7000 this year..tech toys are addictive.

    i have single parts in my computer that cost that much,
    so easily over the average

    Luckily my better half is just as much of tech/gadget junkie as myself.

    I don’t usually have a hard time explaining how the new toys are worth the cost.

    We could probably supply a small third world country with our old stuff. :)
