What the Heck Does This Sign Mean?

I’m guessing it’s a tiny airport where there’s a road at the beginning—or end— of the runway. You should be careful you aren’t hit by the plane taking off. Always sound advice, that.

My best guess is:

“Look out ! A plane could hit you while it’s taking off. Should its rear wheels hit you it may crash back into the ground”

Well it’s obvious.
You’re not supposed to tie airplanes to cars, the rope will snap.

I’m thinking “Danger, low-flying planes”

if you have ever seen how a glider gets up to the air you will understand it.

most of the time, when a glider can’t start from a slope, it needs a second plane to pull it up to the air. for this, there is a sort of rope clipped to both planes (like one car haul off another).

so this rope is still on the front plane after unclipping the glider and when this plane is landing it could cause damage to cars on the way oft the landing.

Obvious… that’s a stop sign. It’s an octagon, after all, but somebody painted it. No other sign is an octagon.

there used to be one of these by my house…

there was a runway about 100 or so feet from a rather bizy street… so they put up almost the same exact sign and under it said plans might hit car apon takeoff haha because the tail of a plane is lower then the front of a plane when taking off.. thats why its the tail that hits the cars top

never seen it happen.. but there is train tracks right next to there also and one time a small plane took off a little low and hit the train and then the plane crashed on to the tracks and a different train hit it… sad :-/

but since then they moved the runway back and the street over some and now the only problem they have is the gate for the train is off so sometimes it lifts up when there is still a train comming from the opposite direction im sure cars have been hit but i dont know for sure

Alan is right, there is not supposed to be another octagon sign other then the Stop sign. Somewhere in the books it says that, I just finished traffic school :-P

all I’m getting would be “Danger: organic planes in use, like birds they aim their poo at your car” or there’s always “Danger: Pilot is a jackass and will try to bounce off your car for altitude”
