22 dead at Virginia Tech, mass murder shooting

I am speechless. My thoughts go out to the families and victims of today’s assualt:

At least 22 are dead after a shooting at Virginia Tech University Monday morning. Campus police said there was only one shooter and he is now dead. They are unsure if the shooter was a student. …

At least one person was killed at West Ambler Johnston, a residence hall, but several others were injured in that shooting. At least 20 were killed at Norris Hall, an engineering building. The dead shooter puts the death toll so far at 22.

A spokeswoman at Montgomery Regional Hospital said 17 students were being treated there for gunshot wounds, and Carilion New River Valley Medical Center in Christiansburg reports that four people with gunshot wounds were being treated there. Carilion spokeswoman Sharon Honaker said one was in critical condition and three others were stable.

    Nicky, I think Derek marked it as stupid since the gunman was for lack of a better word.. stupid. I am also sure that Derek did not have a wordpress category for Senseless Killings.

    I’m with Kirby, there, Nicky. Violence like this is stupid. I mean, is there any reason why anyone should ever want to do this? What went wrong with our society to earn us these shootings?

    Go to a public school, go to anywhere someone isnt accepted into a group. Go to anywhere where some dumb ass bullies and jocks rule the bubble world they live in. Youll then see not WHAT went wrong with society, but what is wrong within society. Where a kid can literally go to the cops about stuff, and watch nothing happen. There is alot wrong everywhere and we all suffer because stricter policy and more limitations are put on ourselves because of those in charge not taking care of this by all preventative means. This was preventable, at some point.

    Go play your Wii’s and continue to say how ‘sick’ and ‘disgusted’ you are. IMO its not enough to send your prayers if you arent wiling to work toward preventative measures.

    imo: these guys should start the spree with themselfs..

    also you all should be (at least self)trained for worst case scenarios..
    it’s sad, but no law or anything will stop people from goin crazy..
    anyone can blame anything, but you’ll be alone (as a team too)
    to know what to do, and how to do should help a lot!
    It might be a little paranoia, I don’t think so..
    precautions helped me many times to bypass accidents and critical situations..
    while others were “running around screaming”..
    so try to prepare for everything, try to stay calm and also alive..
