When the usual stuff crusted pizza doesn’t cut it

When the usual stuff crusted pizza that you usually order doesn’t cut it, you can always check out the luxury ($1000) pie at a NYC restaurant. So, what goes into a $1000 pie?

The pizza will be added to the menu at “Nino’s Bellisima,” one of Selimaj’s six restaurants in the city. Forget traditional cheese and pizza sauce, the record-priced pie will be topped with creme fraiche, chives, eight ounces of four different kinds of Petrossian caviar, four ounces of thinly sliced Maine lobster tail, salmon roe, and a little bit of spice with wasabi.

Ridiculously disgusting sounding in my opinion. There’s something about the idea of a pizza and caviar which just doesn’t sit right. Where’s the oil? Where are the giant sausages? I don’t even think a $1000 pizza should be eaten with your hands should it?

I gotta say, this is too much. The elevation of gluttony and indulgence to now shameful heights has finally got my goat. A $1000 pizza washed down with $700 chanmpagne… While our people fight and die in Afghanistan and Iraq, while Darfur genocide rolls on…While the oceans are over-fished to devastation, while the poles melt and the west burns… I respect the freedom we have in the country to market whatever will sell… But a some point the shameless behavior of pure materialism, ego indulgence, narcissistic gluttony reaches a level of absurdity which invites a response similar to when your parents spanked you for being selfish. I hope someone spanks these guys soon.

have you ever seen the stories of the lavish parties during the depression?

Yeah, Steve, they should pay some $500/hour escorts to spank them. With $600 leather belts. Or am I missing something in your post?
