sidekickid-crunchgear.jpg

T-Mobile is rumored to have a new more affordable Sidekick in the works The Sidekick ID, which is rumored to be priced at $150 (with the usual 2 year agreement) has a reminiscent form factor of previous renditions but to shave some money off of the pice it will shed Bluetooth, the MP3 player, digital camera and microSD support. This will not reaplce any SK model, but intended to cater to those who are addicted to IM, Texting, and web surfing.

    “Bluetooth, the MP3 player, digital camera and microSD support”

    So basically anything that people actually need.

    i have a sidekick3 and trust me.. thos are not even needed… you cant really do anyhting with it.. im very disappointed with the sidekick3 …

    yes it has bluetooth.. that can only conect to a earpiece …
    the mp3 player is decent… but could be a little llouder….
    camera… BLOWS i dont even use it … unless you are outside at 11-3 dont plan on getting a picture that you can see anyhting more then 5 inches infront of the camera…
    the SD is only good for making your own themes and holding music that cant be heard that well because picture quality is horrible

    im looking forward to this phone i would rather own a slimed down phone that lacks features because i dont use any of them as it is

    @Smash

    I have the SK3 as well and I’m shocked with not only the quality of the images but the quality of the flash… I mean it’s no Canon or Sony… but it’s a cell phone.

    I couldn’t stand my SK3 without bluetooth now that I have it so I’m out on this one… now if danger would open up fucking developer accounts so I could write my own damn software I would be super pleased ;)

    I think that this device is intended for the younger crowd….like young children that do not need bluetooth, or need a camera, or mp3 player…which on the sk3, sucks compared to others. Personally, i think that this device would be 100% on the money if it had a camera and was rubberized so that if it was dropped, it would not break

    I have the SK3. I must say that the mp3 player is pretty good if you download or have high quality music. Some you get off the computer turn out having a lower sound compared to others. The microSD is something I NEED I make custom themes and suck because I get tired off looking at the same 4 original themes. The camera can do A LOT better I hate the quality being so low and horrible my brothers razor has better quality then mine and it sucks. I would stick to my SK3 for now and that ‘new model’ is probably intended for those who wouldnt care much about not having a camera, mp3, and microSD, like business people or who knows? I personally stick with my SK3.

    I can’t believe that I own a sidekick, I have the lx, and honestly, I miss my moto slvr. A lot, the camera was better and it could fit into my pocket. Which is what a cell phone should do
