Yahoo! Selling! Search! Results?!
It seems as if Yahoo will be including its paid ads in search listings. These ads will be indistinguishable from regular search listings.
According to the linked article there will be some telltale signs you are looking at a paid search listing.
- The title on Yahoo! differs from the actual title of the page linked to.
- Yahoo! offers no cached page for the questionable links.
The article goes on to ask since Yahoo! is supposedly including paid ads in their search results, are they selling results rankings as well? Is this ethical? Are other engines doing this and nobody has found out yet? Let the conversation begin!
