Verizon EVDO offering catches up to Sprint
Verizon Wireless has finally launched its Rev A EVDO wireless internet network [official Verizon Press]. Armed with the USB720, a sibling to Sprint’s Ovation U720 USB Modem (reviewed here), Verizon Wireless customers will have the tools and coverage necessary to download and upload files at DSL-like speeds.
Now that customers have the USB EVDO options available from both Verizon Wireless and Sprint, the question to address now is, “who should I go with?”. Taking into consideration the fact that Verizon has been reported to cap their “unlimited” data plan, it may be a smarter move to go with Sprint. For idea of the type of speeds achieved on the Rev A EVDO network, check out this screenshot or visit EVDOmaps.
