Updates galore for Apple users today

That’s right, updates galore for Apple users today as the shiny white Apple mothership spreads 9 software updates for its little gremlin clan users. The updates include everything from your nitty little Daylight Savings Time update to your full blown security minded update.
The update fixes one issue that I believe I may have personally experienced:
On systems running Tiger or Panther, the update addresses a vulnerability in iChat’s AIM URL handler that “may lead to an application crash or arbitrary code execution,” according to Apple. The bug was announced on Month of Apple Bugs as “Apple iChat aim:// URL Handler Format String Vulnerability” on January 20.
One downside to choosing to update during the day is that the Updater software requires that users restart their machines. Personally, I’d rather save the restarting for the wee hours of the night for when I’m not using. If you see one of these annoying pop-ups after making the mistake of clicking update, open up Activity Monitor and kill the updater once the download and installation aspect(s) are complete.
