Unlock a car with a Tennis Ball

I love how the door luck already looks pushed-in from the pressure created by pushing the ball as hard as possible against the lock. Perfect!

“keep this magic ball inside your purse at any time”….or keep a (much smaller) extra key in your purse at any time.

I think its bogus.

The only way I would think this would work if it was on the pneumatic vacuum locking systems used in some older cars (like the mercedes). I wouldn’t say it was beyond possibility, but it would not make sense for it to work on purely mechanical locks.

It is real. Car thiefs in South Africa have use this method to get into cars very much.

Hmm…..well the hole would have to be near perfect (not letting much air escape)

And the lock would have to be near air tight (maybe car locks are?)

It’s an interesting idea. And could work…on a some cars. But doubtful. I may try it.

It’s a well known car theft method also in Europe.. :)

my truck(2001 dodge dakota r/t) didnt work(auto locks)
moms car(2000 chistler sebring touring) didnt work(auto locks)
sisters car(2007 honda dont remember what kind.. only a handfull in illinois) didnt work(auto locks)
dads van(1994 ford arostar ) didnt work (manual locks)
friends 2000 contour didnt work(auto locks)
2001 ford focus didnt work (manual locks)

imma go with this dont work.. either that or i did it wrong each time

It does work on some older model central locing cars in the UK as ive seen it done buy a locksmith but with a slighly differnt method 1 was a tennis ball cut in half and pushed over the lock then hit witht he othe fist and with a childs bathtoy that squirts water same method you stick the toy end into the lock then hit it as hard as you can and the air pressure bounces the lock up.

another method ive seen the police use is to use the stiff fibre tape that is sealed around packages folded in half and treaded down the window into the dor then around the lock mech and pulled up quickly which again pops the locks.

A wire coat hanger does the job for me
