Sprint will drop your ass if you roam too much
Sprint the company of “bold innovation have come together in a new company with a clear mission: To be No. 1 in providing a simple, instant, enriching and productive customer experience [#] has taken another swipe at their customers by limiting the “unlimited” roaming. Sprint has previously been known for not limiting their services (Unlike Verizon), but that is slowly coming to an end.
The Consumerist is reporting that Sprint will cancel service for customers that roam more then 50% of the time for two months starting February 26, 2007. You will receive a nasty gram from Sprint, and representatives are strictly told not to save you as a customer as the script shows:
Mr/Ms Customer, I do apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused. This is a final decision by Sprint and I have been given no ability to reverse the actions outlined in the letter you received. I can tell you that Sprint offers a program to buy back eligible phones and you can learn more about that at www.sprintbuyback.com. Again, I apologize that I cannot assist you any further at this time.
For those who are looking for an out from your Sprint contract – you got it! No word on if you will be able to keep your number. I would gladly leave Sprint for AT&T / Cingular if they offered a DAMN unlimited text plan – if anyone can get us on that you have a new customer!
Full disclosure, Sprint is the carrier of UNEASYsilence / Experiment23
