Spam Text Your ExFriends for Free

TxtDrop

Spammers unite, there is a new service that will allow you to send free text messages to any person on any carrier for free (so long as they line in the US or Canada).

Granted the service was designed for individuals (heck there is even a MacOS X widget), but the potential for abuse is really high here with an automated script.

This service also promises to guarantee your privacy, and only puts a small tag at the bottom of its transmitted SMSii.

    LoL great title.

I don’t get why so many people look for these services when you can just as easily text cell phones using AIM. simple as adding a buddy with a +, 1, area code, then the number

    +12135555555

im sure you could spam a LOT faster with an AIM bot anyways.

But you can easily opt out of AIM messages.

    @Dan

Can you? its sent as a regular txt to your cell so its not like you would have to be sign onto AIM on your phone.

    Easy:

    Disabling the Service
If you choose to not take advantage of receiving messages from this service, you can choose to “opt-out” of the service. Once you have “opted-out” of the service, you can choose to “opt-in” to the service again at any time.

    Stop Receiving Messages (Opt-Out)
If you want to stop receiving messages from AOL and AIM users, follow these steps:
    Open a new text message.
Type the word “Out” in the body of the message.
Send the message to the short code for the AIM Welcome feature:
    Alltel 265019
    Cingular Wireless 265019
    Cricket 265019
    T-Mobile 265019
    Verizon Wireless 265019
You will receive a message confirming that you have opted-out and will no longer receive messages from AOL and AIM users.
