Use Dial up Networking (DUN) on any EVDO Phone…

…in 10 easy (?!) steps! Again, I must wave the GEEKS ONLY flag here, even though the step by step process is VERY CLEAR, it is extremely easy to brick your handset, void all warranties and cause you to be the recipient the wrath of a multi million dollar phone company. SO PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!!!

With that said, Tired of crippled cellular hardware that prevents you from doing what you want with it? *cough* Verizon *cough* There is a way to enable any EVDO handset to use its existing data plan to connect to your computer via DUN.

According to a post over at HowardForums, with your phone connected to your Windows computer via USB or Bluetooth and utility called QPST, you to change the service programming of your phone to allow DUN access over your existing “VCast” dataplan.

Now again, I didn’t test this so I can’t vouch for it, but reading the discussion this hack works. Use at your own risk!
