Get Apple’s iCal and Address Book to play with Microsoft Exchange

Are you a Mac user caught in a PC workplace? Not a fan of Entourage, but still want to sync your calendars and contacts with your Exchange server – so you can wireless sync your BlackBerry or Windows Mobile device? There is hope for you! A software company by the name of Snerdware offers two applications, GroupCal and AddressX, that gives Mac OS X users the ability to sync iCal and Address Book with Microsoft’s Exchange Server 2000 or 2003.
The software provides seamless connectivity using Apples built in Sync services and these utilities do not require any additional software to be installed on the Exchange server, so your IT guy won’t further alienate you. The best part is that AddressX is freeware (as in $0 baby!) but GroupCal will set you back US$65 for a single license, which is a small price to pay to have your Mac jive with the Exchange server.
