First WordPress.com, now Blogger

Back in October of 2006, WordPress.com decided to offer something that users had been requesting for a number of months. Domain registration and mapping. What did this mean? It meant that instead of passing out your username.wordpress.com URL to friends, family, and contacts, you could register an actual domain and use that instead. Fancy right?

Apparently Blogger doesn’t want to lose out on the fun as users begin to see the light jumping ship to WordPress.com. Blogger.com now allows users to bring their own domain to the service making your Blogger blog a little less, unprofessional. Find more information about the new feature on the Blogger Help page: How do I use a custom domain name on my blog?

Personally, I fail to see any reason why someone would want to stay on Blogger when alternatives like WordPress exist? Hiding behind that old excuse that you don’t want to hassle with moving posts? Don’t be. Check out the previously mentioned tutorial on moving from Blogger to WordPress.
