The Self Tying Shoelace?!

How is that possible? Yea, it is a little infomercialish but after a couple dozen viewings I can’t figure it out. Fake?

UPDATE: Ah ha! T.M. Tracy has done some good detective work and found out the secret! To quote: “Do you notice that his pants are really baggy? This covers the real shoelaces that are tied (that are attached to a a spring loaded key chain retractor). He then places the tied bow under the pants, and runs the shoe lace down his leg and out his pants to make it look like his shoes are untied.

When he shakes his leg around he starts retracting the face shoe lace up into his pants and the bow starts to flop out making it appear as they tied them self. Watch it a few times and you might catch on it a bit, but the video makes it tough to see… this *is* how its done.”

    I’ve seen David Blane do that, its a trick, he’s got his hand in his pocket, and an already tied shoe, when he shakes his leg around, his hand pulls up “untied” laces into the pant leg and unveils the already tied shoe, ask to see it with shorts on, they can’t do it!

    i am a highly educated person in film.. and i can tell this is played foward..then reversed and all he really did was shake his foot till it untied..

    thats why it is tied and he still is shaking his foot.. he is trying to get it untied…

    umm, it is totally possible… i watched criss angel do it im like no… that cant be right and then i like went to school and i was talking to someone and my shoelace was untied and i was like he went left and right and snapped (moving my feet) and i stopped and it was tied. Really though why the hell would someone lie about that?

    its real. go to http://www.peguinmagic.com and look up the self tying shoelace. you can buy it. you just have to put something in your shoe to make it work.

    Apparently you are not highly educated in film. This is a simple close-up magic trick that has nothing to do with the camera, just adult commen sense. Your link was obvious with what they did, but that probably confused you at first until someone explained to you.

    No your both wrong, you can actually buy these laces off the internet, they are available in Japan, they are set to tie themselves up when you shake your leg, thanks
