The Rollertoaster

First we have the Flying Toasters, now we have a rollertoaster. This guy is an innovative toaster concept that lets you slide bread right through instead of having it pop up. But with all concepts there’s no word yet on if this concept will go into production.

Wonder if they’ll invent a butter roller to go with this?

saw this on gizmodo or engadget a day or two ago, not accusing – just tellin ya, and i thought to myself:

this gadget is exactly what i need to make my world complete.

my toaster takes up at least 6 cubic inches too much space in my kitchen, and to satisfy my need for more open space in there… i must have this toaster.

i’d sell blood for this toaster.

When I was in high school, we had a photo paper dryer that worked along these same lines. It was mostly for use with 16×20 prints, since the squeegee method took four passes. The problem was, it would eat peoples’ photos from time to time. I had personally witnessed three or four photos get eaten and heard stories of at least half a dozen more.

I was working on my final project with my last piece of 16×20 paper. When it came time to dry the print, my instructor said, “how come you never use the print dryer?” I replied, “because it eats prints. I’m not sticking this in there; it’s my last piece of 16×20.” He laughed and said, “tell you what, if it eats your paper, I’ll give you another one.”

So I warmed up the machine and fed in the paper. It didn’t come out the other side. For a while. Then the machine started to smoke. Sure enough, it had eaten my print. To rub the proverbial salt in my wound, my instructor didn’t have any 16×20 paper, so he gave me four pieces of 8×10 (which, I assure you, is not the same).

So, as neat as this looks, I wouldn’t buy one simply because it reminds me of the print dryer.
