Outlet Speakers

Fresh off the wire, and yet another concept gadget, but what you see is a cool portable speaker of the future.

Ever since WiFi has entered my life I have been looking to eliminate wires everywhere, the major target was my speaker system. Although these little guys will never replace you $1,000 Klipsch speaker set, it is a step in the right direction. Roughly the size a standard power adapter, these little guys plug in and start receiving transmitted music. But the music is not sent via the power lines, it comes from an FM radio signal, so device that can be hooked up to a FM transmitter (stereo, iPod, MP3 player, etc.) can be used.

Neat!

I think I’d rather have it come over the power lines.

Living closer to NYC, it’s almost impossible to find a clear FM station to transmit over. Even my 900 mHz headphones have issues.

The only thing I get zero static over when I stream music wirelessly is my Airport Express.
