“V” for Vendetta goes to the White House

Image of Vendetta visiting the security checkpoints at the Capitol

“V” visits the White House as well as a number of other security checkpoints throughout the Capitol. The feedback from security guards and Secret Service agents is, for the most part, positive.

On Monday, November 6, 2006, “V” visited security check points at the White House, the main Treasury, IRS and Justice Department Buildings and the Capitol. “V’s” purpose was to deliver the People’s Petitions for Redress of Grievances relating to the Government’s violations of the war powers, tax, privacy and money clauses of the Constitution, and to inform key Government officials that at least 100 more “Vs” would be at their doorstep on November 14th expecting a response to the Petitions.

I imagine the atmosphere of and attitude of the security agents would / will be a little more serious when 100 “V’s” show up as a group to make their petitions known. I’m definitely looking for this in the news over the next few days.

They’ll be lucky if none of don’t get shot on the way there. Someone walking around in black with a mask on is asking to get capped!

huh tha’ts odd considering that V stood for anarchy and overthrowing/killing the corrupt government officials. To see him by the whitehouse, he could be taken as a terrorist. I get the feeling that the person that is impersonating V doesn’t really know what he stands for/ is just doing this for personal attention, not for a positive (/negative?) political statement.
BTW anyone that is remotely interested in V should definitely read the graphic novel. It is AMAZING, much much better than the movie.

Sorry Emory….for more details, go to http://www.givemeliberty.org/RTP2/UPDATES/Update2006-11-11.htm

the man in V was certainly NOT an impersonator any more than the man who donned the Guy Fawkes mask was “impersonating” Guy Fawkes. It’s the spirit of the idea. I think we should applaud him for what he did. AND…we should applaud the various police, agents and security force who did their jobs, but did not exceed their authority by arresting V or requiring him to remove his mask or even show ID.
