I love Gmail; I’ve used it for quite some time now. I remember back when I had my old Hotmail account, I hated it (even when it was the cool thing to have). Gmail has solved so many of my old problems in a simple, elegant manner.

It’s quite silly for me to have that much space, but I have about 15 email addresses for loads of separate things, using ISPs, Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, Uni, Website, so I wouldnt expect any of them to have a crazy amount of used space. Saying that, my ISP email addresses probably use at least 10 times that amount of space.

I dont even know how you cac use 2GB of email storage! I have 414 messeges in my hotmail inbox and I am using 4% of my 250mb limit.

Many people use their Gmail accounts for file storage which can quickly add up. Here’s a handy Firefox extension which will help speed up the process of filling your account to the brim – GSpace.

Gmail FTW. It’s still the best email provider out there. It just beats everything else. I ditto the comment about hating hotmail. Even when i had one i hated it, it never worked right, plus it was (is it still? Havent checked in a while) filled with spam and popups.

I run my own email, IMAP + SSL using Courier-imap with Amavis and grey listing. If I ever run out of space (there’s about 40gb left) I can just go to the store and buy an extra 750gb ;p (well actually I’d buy something like 2x500Gb and RAID them). I use RoundCube for web access. I’ve been running it for about a year now, and it’s hard to beat!

as for size, it doesn’t really matter as long as there’s enough. I’m hoping to never have to delete a single email from my account because of lack of space

Currently using Gmail and the new free AOL. Like Gmail but don’t like the fact that I cannot create folders for my emails, it becomes one enormous list. AOL is actually pretty good but if you do not manually move mail to “saved” folder they get deleted after a time.

Which do I prefer, hmmm, I’d have to unfortunately say AOL…

This is the best email system available. Period. Not only is the storage so high that I never press ‘delete’ but instead always press ‘archive’ I really love the Conversation style of organizing long email chains and responses. It makes so much sense.

wdlv: Try learning about labels on GMail. Not only are they just as good as folders, but they allow you to file emails under multiple labels, therefore making them better than folders.

Many years ago I used to have AOL, but I can’t STAND how they just randomly delete emails from your inbox if you don’t save them to a separate folder – it’s ridiculous!

I also use Yahoo, but I don’t like the new ‘beta’ style, I much prefer their older interface.

I use gmail. I have a few accounts, but i’m still nowhere near the limit on any of them. I have a bunch of email addresses that forward into 1 central gmail account, as well as a few more that all go into another gmail account for archiving. Just incase the server they’re on goes down.

I have Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo and AOL (my old netscape email). I all have next to nothing compared to the limit they offer. My Gmail is for geek stuff. Yahoo is for family stuff (non-tech people seem to remember that one easy and it was one of the first that I could set to check my POP3 email accounts for my websites. Now they all can be set to do that). Hotmail (MSN) just becuase of my DSL service through came with an account. The AOL I havent touched in a long time (hope no one is sending mail there). I do happen to like what Yahoo is doing with the BETA but I am still using thier traditional setup for now. The Spam catching enigine seems to be working pretty well in the Hotmail system nowadays (though that may just be because I have an MSN account). What can I say about Gmail…it’s making other people make thier email offerings better and more robust.
