DIY Combo Lock Cracking

How To Crack A Combination Lock – video powered by Metacafe

Watch out Tom Cruise! With this neat video tutorial, you can crack locks just like Ethan Hunt. Well, that is if Ethan Hunt was on a mission in a High School or Gym locker, and was satisfied with a treasure like smelly sweat socks.

Matter of fact, why would anyone want to do this? Can’t you just just break a lock the normal way? (Thanks for the tip Dave!)

This is my favorite feeds, please placed me in the contest for HD DVD xbox360.
    Thanks!

at about 5:30 (phase 3?) he says that if your remainder was 0, or 1, add two, and if your remainder was 3 or 4, subtract 2. how can the remainder from a division by four be four? that mathematically makes zero sense at all.

  • Paul B

@ adam, I believe he meant “if the remainder is 2 or 3 then subtract 2″. I noticed that as well.

I am just startled that it is that simple to break-in to a masterlock. Note to self…use multiple locks of different types…

mos def an awesome feed… I confirmed this on two separate locks… Definitely makes me think about using master locks on my own shit.

Wouldn’t it be faster just getting a bolt cutter or something?

  • Rev. D.

Nice, but in the end; locks are cheap, Bolt Cutter RULE and there’s no substitute for writing down your combination or developing a clever means to remember them… and there is always the possibility that key locks are the best bet.
    Very well done video.

    Lisa,
It may be easier to cut the lock but then you lose the lock the point is to keep the lock.

Great. A-Holes all over are learning this. I got ripped off this weekend at the gym by someone who broke into my combo lock. Take this off the internet.
