Crouching Tiger, Hidden Taskbar

taskbartransparency.gif Hey, Desktop real estate is pricey! On, my Mac I hide my menu bar, and now on my PC I can hide my taskbar.

AlphaXP Lite is a free Windows XP utility that adds some transparency to Windows. When you activate the small application you can customize the transparency of your taskbar, giving you more workspace on your screen. The taskbar will remain transparent until you bring your mouse down to it. AlphaXP also has other tricks such as window transparencies in addition to the taskbar fading – so you can doll up your boring Wintel box.

Perfect for those people who complained that enlarged navigation bar in IE7 took away 67 pixels from your web surfing experience.

not sure i get the point. Its not like you can click on that ‘recovered’ real estate, and you can already autohide the windows taskbar — there’s a checkbox built in to windows to do so. and when its auto-hidden, you can click in the area formerly occupied by your task bar, unlike with this program.
