I’m all for “real beauty” and anti stick girls and all of that. But, this is an advertising campaign for Dove from Unilever.

Of course it’s an advertisement, you didn’t notice the Dove logos plastered everywhere? Or perhaps that Dove has been running this campaign for quite some time now (6 months at least)?

However, the message is still there. Dove promoting women’s self-esteem is comparable in my eyes to Oprah campaigning for whatever trendy issue she currently feels like. Both are using their name to bring validity to their cause. Both are trying to create awareness of the issue. I think it’s been long enough that women have been told that they should conform to a “beauty standard” of slim figure, heavy makeup, and large breasts. /rant

And I can attest to the image editing towards the end of the video. It’s ungodly how realistic photos can be edited.

I’m not sure I would call the linked campaign and advertisement for Dove. I would think that Dove is more of a main sponsor supporting the campaign.

    I don’t really care..
I just like women as they are.. and they know that :D

I really like the idea of the campaign!
I support real beauty, I don’t like my girls super-skinny…

She was lovely before, and she’s lovely after. I found the neck stretching the most fascinating.

It’s not like people didn’t try to change their looks before Photoshop. Now it’s just easier and there are hardly any untouched fashion images. Course it’s not like people don’t know that…yet for some reason they still want to look amazing (and who can blame them) but there is a stopping point.
