Slim chance for skinny models

Food is the new buzz word in the modelling industry, cos girls whose bones show will be no shows. In an international effort to fight anorexia, several governments are making the presence of “skinny” girls illegal on the cat walk. Effectively the image of a skinny woman being sexy is being attacked, making it socially unacceptable to starve one’s self for looks.

The first ‘shocker’ came from the Madrid fashion show where models with a BMI (Body mass index) of 18 or less were dumped on the eve of the opening. India and other European countries followed suite in the fight against anorexia and bulimia.

Seriously, I can’t wait to post the first story of women hiding lead in their bodies in order to pass the wieght requirement.

    um a little correction. the link for the madrid fashion show states “models must have a BMI rating of around 18″ so that means most of the women who are accepted are arround 18 BMI. So saying models with a BMI of 18 or less were dumped is incorrect

    mm, i cant exactly remember my hight, but a inch of were i am puts me above or below it, but either way im “”underweight”" .

    I totally agree with banning models who are skinny in an unhealthy way! Its just not right to hurt yourself for looks, and skinny is not beauty, women and girls are beautiful the way they are whatever body type they were born with and take care of it. It seems I am around 18.7 bmi, but thats healthy for me.
