Sick MacBooks – MacBook woes abound

Believe me when I say that I’ve experienced my fair share of MacBook woes since taking ownership of one about 5 months ago. Although the machine looks and performs as stellar as the statistics on paper claim, there are a handful of issues on the side which MacBook owners have had to deal with despite Apple’s every attempt to deny deny deny until the very last moment.

For those who are scatching their heads wondering what all the recent fuss has been about, check out the compiled list of problems Mobile Tech Review has thrown together.

From LCD lines to random shut-downs, discoloration to instant flashes of a bright screen immediately after powering on, the MacBook is definitely one of those machines rushed out the door before any thorough quality inspection was completed.

    It’s fairly common knowledge that Apple Rev. A products will usually have a few issues. Don’t get me wrong, it sucks a bit- but if you’ve done any research before buying a mac, you’d probably have heard it.

    LCD Lines, Random Shut Downs and discolouration of the MacBooks are all able to be covered under the Apple Warranty though (According To Apple Service Source) – so all it needs for a fix is a quick visit to a service center.

    4H619 for me as well: Issues include discoloration (two shell replacements) and a logic board failure which is the reason for the book being in repair right now.

    I have had no problems with my macbook. i get some dark spots from oils on the wrists (i swear i rarely sweat or any of that i was surprised to see these spots) but i heard Mr Clean magic erasers clean that up super easy.

    Rev. A products have many problems as well as every other revision! I have the last revision powerbook, you would think there would be no problems or at least a few, unfortunately that was not the case. I had LCD lines, audio problems, keys falling out, and now possibly an exploding battery.

    The LCD issue took months for Apple to confess and replace with a working LCD. It’s quite disappointing to hear there is still LCD issues on the new macbooks.
