RSS – Ready for Some Stories

“Ready for Some Stories”. That would be the Oprah breakdown of what Really Simple Syndication (RSS) stands for. Back in Skinny Jeans breaks down the mystery or RSS for the uninitiated by converting the allure of “syndication” to something more digestable – stories ready to be read.

Suppose you have 50 sites and blogs that you like to visit regularly. Going to visit each website and blog everyday could take you hours. With RSS, you can “subscribe to a website or blog, and get “fed all the new headlines from all of these 50 sites and blogs in one list, and see what’s going on in minutes instead of hours. What a time saver!

That one place where your RSS list is created is called an RSS Reader, and it gathers all the headlines from all the websites and blogs you have subscribed to. In a moment, I will describe how to get an RSS Reader.

From identifying feeds, to subscribing to feeds, the challenge of understanding RSS is no more. Now that you have a better understanding of RSS, subscribe to our content.

I really don’t like traditional rss readers I much prefer live bookmarks.. although rss readers would be nice for my windows mobile phone for important things like weather and stuff
