Possible iTunes name change?

I came across this site and wondered what the UNEASY’s whould think.

After over five years, is iTunes on the way to having a major facelift and name change?. With so much new content coming the iTunes Music Store is becoming confusing for customers, so over several software updates Apple is going to slipstream iTunes to make it easier for customers to quickly find content they want and finally change iTunes’ name. Do you think Apple will change the iTunes name? Will it even have an ‘i’ if they do? Do you even use iTunes? Holla!

    I doubt they’ll change the name. iTunes is such a recognizable name, and to change it would confuse customers even more than leaving it be but incorporating new media. Perhaps though they’d change the iTunes Music Store to the iTunes Media Store or something simple like that.

    MacMedia? The store will be called MacMediaMediaStore: MMMS.

    iTunes is a cult name, but still, having music videos, and watching movie trailers by using an app called iTunes doesn’t make the best of sense.

    My biggest concern is video clips which I take with my still camera (that doesn’t make much sense either). There’s this whole confusion between importing them in iPhoto or iTunes. Then there’s the whole importing into the iPod thing. Apple really has to polish up the whole iLife suite.

    They have built such a powerful brand that it would be insane for them to rename it. No one cares that iTunes has videos and not just music, they just know that it has videos and that it has everything else they want.

    Yeah who cares if iTunes is no longer only music.
    Look at MTV, “Muisc Television” now barely even have “music” on it, and it is still called MTV.

    And who finds iTunes hard to use? I find the iTMS really easy to use, and even the program itself easier to use then Windows Media Player

    One thing I can agree to, iTunes Music Store should change its name to iTunes Media Store, will still be same acronym.

    would be a lot of lost branding and marketing…. that be like if they renamed the ipod the macMusician or something
