Dutch government: One citizen one website initiative

In an effort to provide relevant information for each citizen, the Dutch government is implementing a system [via] which would create personal websites containing important personal resources.

The Dutch government is quietly working on a system of personal web sites for every citizen, Dutchdaily De Volkskrant reported Tuesday.

If the trials succeed, everyone will be given a personal web page where they can find information about their tax or benefits. Initial trials for the pages were started earlier this year by the Ministry for Administrative Renewal, the report said.

Information about child benefits, permits and other government information could also be included on the pages.

Could anyone imagine life if President Bush decided to propose such an initiative here stateside? Is anyone willing to mockup what they think the proposed sites would look like?

    I can already see it
“Live reports on your vulnerability to terrorist attacks
Do you go to shopping malls? If so add 10 points to your vulnerability score.
Do you take the plane? If so add 15 points to your score.
    Do you vote for Bush?…”
All written in the *FEAR FONT* !!!

HA! Fear Font. I love it.

I’d mock one up, but I’m too lazy.
