Apple silently releases new iMacs

Check out the Apple Store for a peak at the new iMac family offerings. Core 2 Duos around the table for the popular iMac family. The new addition? The 24-inch beast for $2,000. A bargain / steal if you ask me. The base models go up to 2.16 GHz respectively while the BTO models go up to 2.33 GHz.

How fitting, a silent post for a silent release.

I think I’d be less annoyed if I hadn’t of bought the iMac when it came out with the 2.0Ghz processor. Was there another time in computer history where they upgraded the processor to a better one within half a year?
Look, I know technology improves, but this is rediculous.

Oh, just to clarify, I really LOVE my computer.
Seriously. Way more awesome than my last.
    So, it’s not that.

my gf just got her imac a couple months ago, so im sure she is going to be disappointed about this.

I’m currently in the process of buying my first mac, still trying to decide on the macbook or the macbook pro. Do any of you know if there is going to be an upgrade announcement within the next two weeks for the macbooks?

    (is the forums down?)

I can see how people would be disappointed when their product becomes out-dated by new releases, but Apple typically update their products every 4-10 months depending on the product.. Regardless of when you buy, you’ll have a kick arse computer.

Also interesting how nobody noticed the even more silent Mac Mini upgrade. Now both are core duos, one’s a 1.66 and the other is a 1.83

No word on if the MacBook lineup will be upgraded. I wouldn’t be surprised though if the ‘books’ were updated with the new chips by next week. I’m thinking a silent release along with the mysterious Sept. 12th announcement.

Don’t worry , if you bought an imac be happy with it
or sell it, add few 100′s bucks and get a new one…if you want to be update

my 17 imac G4 still serve me well as a personal computer…be happy with what you have…when i bought my 800 mhz mac, some months later or 6 months, they had a 1 Ghz i believe….i was upset like you, some one told me in the spymac forums that computers get get old or not up-to-date once you buy them…

that made me feel better, so even if you buy this new imacs, you soon will find yourself wanting another imac in few months or so…probably new add-on or something

if you do video editing maybe you should check more powerful(updated less) macpro’s

No Remote? No Bluetooth? Oh well….17 inch is what i have right now. Unless a new notebook upgrade comes on the line…It’s Showtime!
