Another Day, Another Battery Recall

Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. said Tuesday it has begun recalling 6,000 lithium-ion batteries used in Panasonic-brand notebook computers in Japan on concerns they might overheat.

So for those keeping count, it’s now Dell, Apple and Panasonic. It is important to note that the Panasonic notebooks are not suffering the same issues at Dell and Apple notebooks, whose batteries are supplied by Sony Electronics. Even more interesting is that Sonys own laptops do not suffer the battery problems that plague other vendors.
