iTunes 6 DRM cracked

Assuming you know how to get busy with Python, it seems that iTunes 6 has now been cracked with the help of QTFairUse for iTunes 6.0.4-6.0.5.

  1. Start iTunes
  2. Start QTFairUse6.py.
  3. Play your protected track(s) in iTunes. Each track will be written into a separate dump_NN.aac file.
  4. To make them playable in winamp, convert the raw streams to ADTS using FAAD:
    faad.exe -a output.aac dump_NN.aac

Wade through the discussions and snag the download on the QTFairUse forums [via] and report back with your own results. I’d play with Python, but alas, I own no iTunes Music Store locked files.

FYI – This is for Windows only!

S—! This is awesome! I gotta try this out!

Just tried it on my gf’s windows machine last night. Worked pretty well, but the output wasn’t playable in itunes, quicktime, or VLC. I had to “fink install faad” to get a decoder, and that was a bit annoying…but a quick “faad -w dump_01.aac | lame -h –alt-preset 192 – song.mp3″ made things all better.

Ok, I’m a jock, and I have purchased iTunes 6.0 music on my computer. That means I have no idea what you are talking about. If anyone could help me, it would be greatly appreciated.
