Download music: Pandora JAR, hak5, & Firefox
Does anyone care to give this nifty hack a try compliments of Koray.ws. How does downloading audio complete with ID3 tags sound enticing? All you need is a Pandora account, the hak5 Pandora JAR, Firefox, and Windows XP.
The detailed instructions for getting this hack up and running:
- Before proceeding, you’ll need Windows XP with Java installed.
- Download the hak5 Pandora JAR.
- Unarchive the ZIP file into its own folder titled ‘Pandora’.
- Right-click on the Pandora folder and select ‘Cut’.
- Right-click on the ‘Start’ button and select the C:\ drive. Paste the Pandora folder into the right pane.
- Go to ‘Start’ > ‘Run’ and type ‘cmd’ and hit ‘Enter’.
- On the command line, type “cd c:\pandora” (without quotes) and hit ‘Enter’.
- Now type “java -jar pandora.jar 8085″ (without quotes).
- Ensure that any software or hardware firewalls are properly configured for traffic over port 8085.
- Open Firefox and point your browser to http://localhost:8085. You should now be presented with a hacked Pandora interface allowing you to browse and download music directly into your Pandora folder.
