Boggles My Mind

I just stumbled upon a service that boggles my mind.

A company located at http://yes.com has managed to create a way to interface with radio stations, I’m assuming its a software package used in the radio stations main frames etc. etc. etc.

Well anyway they collect data, live and real time, from radio stations all over the U.S. and tell you whats playing, even has a local look up based on ZIP that will let you find more than likely your favorite station and look up whats been played, and whats on now (literally)… and as if that isn’t already cool enough… you can click on a song and purchase from itunes, or even buy it over your cell phone…

Man… you gotta love Mash Ups

My brain hurts when I think about the planning and data architecture going on behind the scenes

I thought that all radio stations carried digital sub-channels that broadcast what’s bing played. In fact Disney has a movie service that pushes movies to a box you can buy that uses these sub-frequency carriers. PBS for instance carries Disney shows and movies under the surface of regular broadcasts.

Its a spooky world. I wonder what else is being broadcast into our minds right now…
