AOL is a Gold Digger

I don’t have a lot of respect for AOL, and this story makes me shed the last ounce of respect I had left for them. The lingering ‘has been’ of the .com age is now in the gold recovery business. Get this:

AOL is planning to dig in a MA couple’s yard looking for buried gold and platinum owned by a spammer they successfully sued for spamming AOL. AOL said Tuesday it intends to search for gold and platinum bars the company suspects are hidden near the home of Davis Wolfgang Hawke’s parents on two acres in Medfield, Massachusetts. The family said it will fight in court to oppose AOL’s plans.

This isn’t a joke. AOL is hell bent to collect the $12.8 million judgment that they were awarded last year in U.S. District Court. I understand that AOL wants what is owed to them, but frankly there are better ways to do it without furthering damaging your already tarnished image.

    “You’ve got Balls!”

“AOL’s lawyer notified the family that the company intends to use bulldozers and geological teams to hunt for gold and platinum on their property…

AOL said it will try to accommodate Hawke’s parents by not being too obtrusive.”

    Hahahahahahhahahahahahaha….

go AOL, show those bloody spammers what a bunch of twats they are. I would have just got the house and every single possession that the family and he owned. He got money for it and now he runs.

Go AOL! Spammers are the lowest form of life. They share that bottom rung with phishers and other folks who use the Internet to abuse others. I hope they dig up this family’s home, ruin their plumbing and destroy everything that means something to them. I hope they find this guy and give him an anal probe to find the gold and platinum!

yeah, I remember a while back they gave that one spammer’s Porsche Boxter away as a contest. I suspect this is a similar stunt to show people “just how serious they are about spam”. We all know that AOL’s pure intentions are to make the internet a better place.

    I agree with Paul

He deserves it, and they shouldn’t be trying to protect him or his assets

He kind of deserves it, but AOL’s just being stupid here.
