    Enzer – Its kinda funny, not many readers on our site use RSS. I wish they would.

    RSS is still in its infancy and has yet to drift into the mainstream. Just wait, by this time next year, we’ll all be tired of RSS this or RSS that.

    RSS is the only way I go around visiting many sites, including your lovely little niche on the web. I too wish the world embraced it a little more. Works great within Firefox.

    I’m actually surprised not many people use it….. it’s so convenient…… or at least for me cause thunderbird uses RSS and mail…….. or maybe I’m just lazy 8Þ……. by this time next year…… maybe RSS will be replaced with brain injection news…… that’d be cool….. long off for sure….. but cool none the less…..

    okay, sadly, I am but a simple newb concerning rss. What exactly is the benefit of RSS? I just go to the websites that I check regurally by having them on my bookmarks toolbar.
    I tried RSS before, but that was in opera and google reader. And neither of them really appealed to me. For one, I couldn’t see the pictures, and that’s a major part of the read for me :P
    Are there any RSS reader that people suggest? I use Firefox, of course (:P) is it somehow built in and I don’t know it?
    Thanks

    @Emory:
    for info on rss, check: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS_(file_format)
    You will find :
    - an explanation on the purpose and uses of rss
    - a link to a tutorial for rss with firefox

    Opera and google reader are good for rss in my opinion. I also use orijinn.com, as it saves the history of my rss feeds.

    If the rss feed is well done, the title and short summary are descriptive enough to tell you if that content is of any interest to you. If it is, you click on the link and read the whole story on the original site.
    Some rss feeds function differently though: engadget feeds have pictures in them, podcasts have audio in them.
    However, seeing only the title and a short summary allows me to scan quickly the news and find what can be interesting to me.
    Google Reader helps me with this, by sorting my items list based on my previous readings.

    Enjoy! :)
