I am thinking about doing this to my MacBook Pro. Of the designers who read this sight do they have any designs they would like to submit?

And while everyone is brewing ideas, any idea where I can procure a film kit for a white MacBook?

I can get something made up for you

I’ve wanted to do this to my MB Pro also. I already have a nice design in mind involving Hexley, the Darwin animal :)

I just don’t have accessing to the laser etcher, which I believe is a minor problem AFAIK ;P

I think an actual drawing might not look as nice as straight up text like that

Ya, the text looks great .. I wonder how a full-size ascii drawing would look?

I was thinking of making this to my MBP. The guys from http://www.etchamac.com do that, I asked them if I could send a photoshop b&w basic drawing so they could etch my mac and they said yes. The only problem about etching a macbook is that if you want to sell it later, it will be quite difficult, that’s why I decided not to do it.

[...] UNEASYsilence recently posted about laser-etching (or engraving) the lid of your MacBook Pro (somehow I assume you’d have less-than-stellar results with the plastic casing on a regular MacBook .. ) – as someone pointed out, it might be hard to sell your personalized MBP if someone doesn’t dig the lid-art, but that’s what a replacement lid is for. Let your mind run wild… [...]

I hate to be a stickler but flickr TOS says you need to link back to the original flickr page.

    ^ busted :P

We are aware of this Paul. However there is a wordpress bug that doesn’t allow us to easily upload our images to our server. I look forward to when the patch is released to not have to rely on flickr.
