Reclaim your screen!

I’m all about little tweaks for my Mac. The biggest nage in 10.4 is the spotlight icon in the upper right corner of the menubar. Why do I need that icon there when I can just hit Apple – F, and have the same results. There is this neat little freeware application called MenuFela was designed to help you reclaim the minimal pixel usage by the Apple menu bar and Spotlight.

Granted it uses the Applicataion Enhancer by Unsnity, I have noticed it only takes up negligable system resources, and to get id of unnecessary icons, it was worth it to me.

    Dan,
You are a freak. Do you really use Spotlight so often as to need a keystroke shortcut? You need to get organized, man! You must also have a really small screen for that tiny little circle up there to bother you!!
LOL, I too am a freak, just not about that tiny little icon, which I think is rather handy, given that I only use Spotlight occasionally, when I’ve REALLY lost something, and then it’s very handy to have the icon there to click.

I am a freak – It just bothers me when space for no reason.

As a keyboard driven person, the less i can touch a mouse the better.

I’m with Dan. Why have the Spotlight icon in the menu bar at all it’s not being used? Quicksilver is the way to go anyway.
