iPhone imminent? Code hints at being true

The following lines of code were lifted from a recent iPod Updater release pushed out by Apple.com:

“t_feature_app_PHONE_APP” application and variables such as “kPhoneSignalStrength,” “clPhoneCallHistoryModel,” prPhoneSettingsMenu,” “prPhoneSettingsMenuView,” prPhoneEnableSetting” and “prPhoneMenuItem.”

According to AppleInsider, the updates have no connection to the current Motorola iTunes phone offering through Cingular. WWDC here we come. I’m crossing my fingers for additional hints at a mobile handset.

Disney recently introduced thier own phone service, and we all know who’s involved with Disney… Their service goes through Sprint-Nextel, so I wouldn’t be all to surprised if the iPhone went down that same route.

I remember buying a smartphone because I was so stoked at the idea of playing all my mp3′s, making all my calls, and doing all my scheduling on one little device.

The scheduling and the calling was useful, but I never really found myself rocking to my music. Also, will this be able to integrate into Apple’s simple menu system easily? Or will it add to the increasingly cluttered UI of the iPod?

I’m excited to see Apple’s solution, especially with all the other obscure happenings related to the iPod.

If the iPhone were to materialize, I’m sure the interface would be as clean and minimalistic as the GUI of OS X. IMO the iPod interface is as simple as they come. What exactly do you find difficult / cluttered about it?

All I really care for is the syncing option for iApps.

There’s a TUAW article that describes that the iphone maybe like this: http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.tuaw.com/media/2006/07/italkphone.jpg
because an “official” apple photographer leaked that image (or at least told that an iphone is comming)
