If only summer oceans could always look so clear

That ocean is really clear!
Gah… The water i get out of the sink isn’t even that clear!
Haha… guess where I plan on spending my next vacation?!

If you live in Croatia you will know that the only proper color of the sea is crystal clear blue and possibly green; nothing else is acceptable

whenever we see something different from the picture above, we are quite worried

While not quite as clear and spectacular, there’s a little cove in Lake Tahoe that has similarly crystal blue waters. Other than that, I doubt you’d find anything close to home that rivals that beauty.

Being from Hawaii originally, I love the ocean. I only wish the Pacific was this clear and beautiful. My fiancée and I are planning a world trip and I think it’s safe to say we’ll be stopping here. Thanks, Derek!

On a somewhat related note, has anyone else noticed that people from the West Coast (and Hawaii) tend to think that the Atlantic Ocean is ugly, whereas people from the East Coast tend to think that the Pacific Ocean is ugly?

Hurghada, Egypt is the same way. I was amazed that I could look straight down off of the piers and see the sea floor and all the animals. The clearest sea water I’ve ever seen. Hurghada is on the East Coast of Egypt on the Red Sea.
