How-to: Click & drag to open links in Firefox
Here’s an undocumented – as far as I know – feature for OSX users. Rather then CMD + ‘clicking’ to open links in a new tab, try dragging links to your tab bar. Additionally, incomplete text links such as uneasysilence.com can also be opened using the highlight then click + drag to tab or address bar to open. The last time I checked, the following functionality was not available to Windows users unless the SuperDragAndGo extension was installed (currently fubar for the updated Firefox version).
Also worth noting is the ability to drag n’ drop links from emails from Apple’s Mail.app. The same functionality applies – highlight inactive URLs and drag into Firefox’s tab or address bar to open. Depending on your tab preferences, dragging links into a background browser window will generally open the website in the foreground.
Note: This will work with the Flock browser as well.
