Does anyone fly Southwest Airlines?

Changing the Southwest Airlines boarding pass is as simple as downloading the appropriate HTML boarding pass page, and changing the graphic before printing at home before taking off to catch your flight. An interesting and – I’m sure – soon to be closed loophole for cheating the system.

I can’t believe I never thought about doing something like this. Any airlines which offer printable HTML boarding may want to reconsider.

Does anyone else know of any tricks for cheating the airlines system?

    Pattern recognition at work. Reminds me of how Kevin Mitnick started “hacking” by figuring out what holes to punch in his bus ticket to get free rides during his youth.

    Uh, i probably wouldn’t ever consider doing this, mainly due to my parinoia of not being on the 10 o’ clock news

    So you do want to be on the 10 o’clock news? ;) I imagine the staff at the Southwest Airlines terminal are too busy to even take notice of tampered passes.

    I would imagine they wouldn’t be to busy to notice, espically around Sept. 11th. Sounds like a real nice way to end up with a felony, and an FBI file if you ask me.

    I have always noticed the lack of security in regards to online boarding passes, I was going to blog how easy it is to simply generate your own boarding pass and enter and exit the airport anytime you want, however I don’t want to end up in Gitmo.
