Baby, you can drive my car
Google has just launched a real-time traffic update functionality for its Mobile Maps feature, which you can download by aiming your mobile browser at www.google.com/gmm. Their service only works with certain phones (Mostly Java based models, and Blackberries), and it’s currently limited to 30 major US metropolitan areas.
I find it very interesting that Google had decided to include this feature only on their mobile service. The mobile implementation of Google traffic overlay is far better then Yahoo’s web offering. But one thing boggles my mind, why just mobile? It is typically more useful to know the traffic conditions before I leave the house.
