Google syncs your Firefox installs
Thanks to Luka and the rest of the readers for the tip, Google now offers a Firefox extension which syncs all of your installations across multiple computers.
Google Browser Sync for Firefox is an extension that continuously synchronizes your browser settings – including bookmarks, history, persistent cookies, and saved passwords – across your computers. It also allows you to restore open tabs and windows across different machines and browser sessions.
The question now is whether or not you trust Google with your saved passwords or private cookies.
My personal tip concerning Google’s latest offering? Download a copy of Portable Firefox and have the extension installed within. Whenever you’re at a public terminal, run the Portable version of Firefox and rest assured knowing that your settings and bookmarks will be as they are at home. Just make sure to trash Firefox once you’re done.
