Europe: Today last chance to buy a selection of Apple gear

Apple eMacDear Europe,

Today is your last chance to buy several Apple branded items. These products are the AirPort Base Station, the eMac, iSight camera and the iPod shuffle battery pack. These will stop being sold tomorrow, 22nd June, from Apple Europe. The reason behind this move is that these Apple products have not managed to meet certain EU environmental regulations.

Now they won’t be discontinued, they just won’t be available for sale from Apple Europe. You can still get them from 3rd party resellers, but until stock runs out. [...] [Francias]

Now this sucks! I hope the MacBook Pro won’t be next because of it’s lack of concern for the environment.

    That last cheap shot at MBPs was pretty funny! Nice one.

    It’s too bad Apple pushes packaging so far the case is itself a heatsink, burning our already burning thighs as we surf smut in the nude.

    I keep my bare legs to the outside edges of my MBP and the heat is not at all bothersome. It’s the center of the bottom that gets hot.

    The feet on the MBP as also so short that a single grain of sand with scratch your case all to [the place the RIAA lives] h-e double hocky sticks.

    Sure, made of aluminum, it won’t catch on fire, but we have a potential China Syndrome. Or at least extra-warm thighs on those cold lonely nights surfing smut in the nude.

    Apple should keep smut in mind when designing computers. iBooks were much better at that, but the screens sorely lacked in pixels.

    Apple have kept the smut in mind… Why else offer dual link DVI to a 30″ Monitor ;)?

    I think It’s pretty poor that EU won’t allow Macs. I mean, the packaging now is so small that it’s more likely to get a DOA machine simply because it’s easier for them to get damaged in shipping.
