Baa, baa … blacklisted.

Baa Baa Black Sheep Have you any wool.jpgAn Indian state has removed nursery rhymes such as ‘Twinkle Twinkle little Star’ and ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’ from its primary school syllabus because they are ‘too Western’.

The government in the central state of Madhya Pradesh, run by Hindu nationists banned these rhymes for children aged between 1 and 5. Children will now learn English rhymes written by Indian poets. [link]

I always knew ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ had pro-Western meanings! To read this propoganda, and listen to the tune so many Indians will now be deprived of, click here.

In the UK schools can’t sing ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’ because apparently it’s racist o_O

Apparently in many UK pre-schools, “Baa Baa Blacksheep” has been changed to “Baa Baa Rainbow-sheep”
Talk about political correctness gone mad…
