Napster, again, goes free

In the digital music world, iTunes is the 400 pound gorilla. To help deal with this Napster moved to an advertising-supported model that will allow anyone to listen to all of their tracks for free, without a credit card.

But there is a catch. You can only listen to a song five times. After that, you have to cough up the dough.

I’m not sure how many people will bite, with the EXTREME DRM solution.

    unless im missing something i’m only getting a 30 sec low quality preview of the song.. im logged in and all… was going to try and record it and see what quality it was and then see if there were any automated progrmas for doing this.

    I didn’t get 30s sample, but it still sounds awful. Like 32k awful. Why not use Rhapsody.com instead? They have free high-quality music.
