Foiled Again

When Mac goodness finds its way onto Windows, it is a dark day. Today is no exception. Airfoil, the NEAT little program that allows any audio to be sent to Apple’s AirPort Express, which is typically only available to iTunes, opeing up the ability now use ANY program that emits any sound to stream over your AP Express.

To quote the folks at Rogue Amoeba:

Since Airfoil was first released for the Mac fourteen months ago, users have both pleaded for and demanded a Windows version [...] and while we are most definitely not leaving the Mac platform, we did feel Airfoil was just too good not to share with our Windows brethren.

So there you have it – Presto, now PC users can be more like thier Mac counterparts. If you have an Airport Express, this is a MUST have regardless of platform.

It’s great that this Airfoil thing has come out for PC users to be able to stream music wirelessly. But… wait…. They could do it the whole time with iTunes, and an Airport Express anyway. Yeah Yeah Yeah… I know it says any program, but why not use iTunes, it rocks anyway… pc or mac.
