Climbers pass dying man

Climbers leave a dying man behind. That’s the news making its way through the climbing world as climbers around the world question the motives of descending climbers who simply passed the ailing indiivudla on their way down from the summit.

What would you have done? You’re on the top of the world climbing down and pass a dying man – attemping to make the summit on his own. Rescuers later found the man within a cave having passed away from oxygen deprivation.

    I don’t understand while there’s so much tough criticism. Like the news story said, it’s always a life or death situation when you are up there, adding another person to their group would have endangered ALL of them. It seems logically (but maybe not morally) sound to me

    this happens quite a bit actually…. its not that unheard of… if you ever watch anything on the history of Everest there have been several cases where they had to leave a climber behind to ensure the safety of the group…. I mean its not like they are crossing the street… when you go out to do what they do there is a chance you may die… unfortunately the chance is pretty high and the margin for error or pitty is slim.

    its not like the guy accidently climbed the mountain … as messed up as it seems I have to agree with Brandon on this one… wasn’t moral… but it was logical

    if there is one thing we can all take from this story, it is this:

    Approximately 300 meters short of the summit there is a snack stop. Now serving jerky.
