US considers use of nuclear weapons

I was under the impression that nuclear war was not an option:

The administration of President George W. Bush is planning a massive bombing campaign against Iran, including use of bunker-buster nuclear bombs to destroy a key Iranian suspected nuclear weapons facility, [...] Bush and others in the White House have come to view Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as a potential Adolf Hitler.

Bush & Co. are comparing Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Adolf Hitler?! Oh that justifies the use of nuclear weapons on military targets. What’s going on here?

    Either we take the fight to them, or wait until they bring it to us. Do you want to wait until your family and children are snuffed out before the US reacts to what it views as a clear and present danger?

    No one is ever going to use nuclear weapons.

    Anyone who nukes an islamic country, will find that terrorism becomes nuclear, and US nukes are useless against an enemy that nobody knows where it is. I mean, where is your nuclear deterrent against a multinational al qaeda suicide squad from… where? nobody knows.. Africa? Middle East? Asia? Europe?

    Plenty of Islamic countries have nukes, and they have seriously high populations – i.e. a high psycho count, just like the USA or any big country.

    The cotinued survival of the western world depends on the fact that people do not hate the west enough to sneak nuclear arms to terrorists to nuke us.

    The last thing anyone needs is a nuclear terrorist group. However, it’s obvious to anyone how they could do it without even approaching 500 miles of america, or setting 1 foot on American soil. I’m not going to spell it out.

    The US will never use nukes on Iran, they really would never be that dumb. Anyway, they have many friends inside Iran. So many of those people are lovely warm friendly people, interested in sunlight, sport and shopping and are a threat to nobody.

    Terrorist Nukes in the US would collapse the world economy, and it would be an awful world to live in, many would starve, and millions would be horrifically disfigured. Nukes in the middle east would spread islamic refugees into Europe, Russia, India and China, thereby changing 4 superpowers into partial moslem nations.

    Terrorist Richard Reed was from England. If he had a nuke, what would you do to retaliate? London?

    ok, as we all know, bushes info suply line isn’t exactly accurate, but even if it WAS accurate in describing iran’s president, isnt nuking a lil over kill? ” oh sorry we didnt mean to kill all those hundands of thousands of inocent people” at which point terrorists would probobly attack again, and even stronger.

    i do have a lot of time on my hands, that is very true.
    however, i do not think that the US will use nuclear weapons, at least not first, and i dont think that a terrorist group will use them first, i think some country as a whole will use them, and then world war iii will start finally ending in nuclear holocaust.

    i sorta beleive the Bibbel code thing i posted about, but the google thing, and yahoo thing, that was all just some information i found while doing work for schoo.

    This is all because of the proposed Iranian oil Bourse. If it takes effect it will cripple the US economy. Saddam attempted a similar system in 2000 and was summarily removed. Must just be a coincidence…

    Such an unpopular opinion I seem to have.

    Have any of you researched what Iran’s, more specifically Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, public position of the US is? He believes that he can cause Armageddon to happen within his lifetime, and that this Armageddon will cleanse the earth of all but his type of religion [Muslim]. That he will destroy America, and bring quote much pain and suffering end quote to the people of America.

    Personally I don’t like war or violence either, but lets apply a litmus test. If the school yard bully is pushing you around, are you allowed to defend yourself? What if that the bully is psychotic and has a gun, do you just ignore it and hope it goes away or that it’s not used? What if you’re the parent and see some other kid pointing a gun at your child’s head, are you just going to stand there in uneasysilence because you believe the bully won’t use violence on you or your family?

    Emory, perhaps if we wait until they [Iran] or another terriost group makes America unlivable by detonating several nukes in here, then you may be forced to move to Canada.
    PS how long until you think they [same groups] will take before moving their focus north to Canada and other Christian faith based areas?
